Naija Vampire wishes every good mom out there, every mom-to-be *i.e my sister *I'm gonna be an Aunt soon :)*, every good grandma, every good great grandma, every good mother figure, every dad who's played mom, every big sister who's played mom and every good nanny who's taken care of other people's kids like their own, a Happy Mother's Day!
Notice I kept saying "good". That's because not every woman or wife or mother is a "mom material". Not every female who's carried a child for 9months and given birth is worth being called a mother. Good mothers are very rare.
I've experienced first hand a mother abandoning her kids *sad*. I've experienced first hand a mother leaving her son at home and hanging out with girls younger than her *sad*. These women had their so-called reasons for their actions but the truth is, those are just excuses for not performing their motherly duties.
Big shout out to all the mothers out there that are keeping it real in the home front, making sure their kids are properly taken care of. Shout out to all the mothers that never abandoned their kids with their husbands when there were issues in the marriage. Shout out to mothers who are hustling responsibly to take care of their kids. Shout out to mothers who look out for their kids even when they're all grown up.
Its Good Mothers that deserve to be celebrated this day, so a BIG shout out to good mothers.
