God's Word For Today: The Weakness of Willpower
‘Without Me you can do nothing.’ - John 15:5
We think that if we have enough willpower, we can fight off every temptation that comes our way. And sometimes it works. Here’s the problem, however. Willpower is your best friend when things go well, but often the first friend to check out when you get weary. When you don’t want to do something, your carnal mind will give you plenty of reasons why you don’t have to. Your emotions will even join in and say, ‘I agree, because I don’t feel like doing it anyway.’ Your mind, will, and emotions would love to run your life, but the Bible says you’re to be led by God’s Spirit. ‘Walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh’ (Galatians 5:16 AMP Classic Edition).
Willpower and discipline are necessary to a successful life, but willpower alone won’t be enough. Determination may get you started and keep you going for a while, but it’s never enough to bring you across the finish line. ‘“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the LORD of hosts’ (Zechariah 4:6 NKJV).
What happens when instead of turning first to willpower, you turn to God? He releases His power into your willpower and energises it to bring you across the finish line. That way willpower doesn’t get the credit for your success, God does. That’s why Jesus said, ‘Without Me you can do nothing.’
This is one of the most important and difficult lessons you must learn if you want to enjoy the life Jesus died to give you.

Men of God now sell the 'Blood of Jesus' in plastic cans
It is a WOW!!!
A certain "man of God" in Ghana is causing outrage by selling what he calls the "blood of Jesus".
The Bible had stated it clearly that in the end of times, many so called prophets would claim to perform miracles but that many of such would be fake.
The outrageous photos of plastics cans labelled 'Blood of Jesus' has been making the rounds and causing resentment on social media after it emerged. The substance is reportedly being sold by a pastor in Ghana, to many miracle seekers who throng his church to make purchases.
It was gathered that according to the pastor, the 'Blood' cures every manner of sickness and sells for between N4,000 and N7,000.
Just negodu! 😦
Dad hilariously re-creates daughter's sexy selfies
Martin is just one of many fathers in the United States who have used humor as a part of parenting and have drawn lots of attention while doing it.
Like most fathers would be, Chris "Burr" Martin was taken aback when he saw a "You're so hot!" comment posted in response to one of his 19-year-old daughter Cassie's sexy selfies on her Instagram account.
Instead of telling her to stop posting the photos or giving her a lengthy lecture, the Spokane, Washington-based comedian creatively decided to take some selfies of his own.
"I did it because she posted something and the guys in the comment section were too much," Martin said. "So to put water on the fire, I posted one like it and said, 'What about me, guys?' and that did it."
Martin has re-created five of Cassie's selfies and proudly posted them to his Instagram account. Yes, the self-proclaimed "selfie dad" has even mastered the duck face. How did Cassie react? "She rolled her eyes at first, but once she saw her friends thought it was funny, she was OK with it," Martin said. "I enjoy making people laugh."
As some Instagramers would say "more Instagram followers for you". Well he now has more than 16,000 followers on Instagram 😂
Why Belarusians are getting naked at work
When you take your president's words literally. LOL!
Belarusians are now stripping off in their offices after the president ordered them to "get undressed and work."
Using the hashtag#раздеватьсяиработать -- roughly translating to #GetUndressedAndGoToWork -- people all over the country are sharing nudies on social media.
The president's exclamation seems to have been a Freudian slip, as the phrase "get undressed" (razden'sya) sounds similar to "develop themselves" (razvivat' sebya) in Russian.
Lukashenko expressed his wish during a speech at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress in Minsk. All in all, the speech addressed the importance of technology and innovation in order to lift Belarus from one of its worst economic situations in decades. See more photos below.

Buhari launches tree planting, instead of tomato planting, in Kaduna
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday launched the “Keep Kaduna Green Project”, a project designed by the Kaduna State government to fight desertification. The project aims to plant I million trees annually.
Buhari lamented that Nigeria has the highest rate of deforestation in the world, even as he hailed Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i for a “worthy and timely project”, which he said would reverse the deforestation trend in the country.
El-Rufai said the projection is to engage about 26,000 persons in the project.
“Our government considers the ‘Keep Kaduna Green’ project an important intervention. In planting one million trees every year, we intend to achieve many goals, one of which is to check desertification.
“We will be creating jobs for the people who will plant and nurture the trees. The trees will ultimately grow and improve the look of our cities and towns and give the reassuring feel that leafy neighbourhoods should be accessible to all residents,” El-Rufa’i said.
LOL!. In other words, trees are more important than tomatoes. Nigerians will soon join goats to eat grass and leaves from the trees that'll be grown. Masters and PhD holders will be employed as tree planters and nurturers. Forgive me but this is too damn hilarious. Its sad to say but, the truth is, we are being governed by a bunch of clueless leaders.
